MyWorkTools.com is a company that values its people - but every company will
tell you this. At MyWorkTools.com, we put it into action every day.
The first way to do this is to acknowledge that:
- "Work" is not everything.
- Burning out employees is not good.
- "Winning" at the sacrifice of health and family is not winning at all.
The work environment at MyWorkTools.com is fast paced, challenging, and yes,
it can be stressful. We have a business to run, deadlines to meet, and most
importantly, customers to satisfy. The key is striking a balance between work
and personal life so that one is still alive at the end of work!
Building a successful company requires hiring the right person for each individual
position. To do this, we have adopted the principles below:
- No interviews will be allowed until an "ideal candidate profile" is developed.
We must ensure that we hire the right person for the job and that person has the
ability to grow with the company.
- We will hire employees based on character, work ethic, and a passion for
self-improvement, as well as prior experience and results.
- All employees will be allowed to work from their homes at least part - time
to improve the quality of their lives and to increase their productivity.
- Emphasize the importance of giving back to the community. Set expectations
that if the company, "hits it big", each employee should give 10% of their stock
to the charity of their choice.
- Each potential employee will receive a realistic job preview. This will include:
- A complete review of the risks of joining the start-up.
- A review of the stock dilution that can and will take place.
- What is expected of them - quantity, quality, and the importance of hitting
deadlines.
- What they "own" and must take 100% responsibility for. "Ownership" titles
will actually be on their business cards.
- Before receiving a promotion, we will place the person in a "stretch assignment" to determine whether or not they are the right person for the position.
- What the true purpose of each department is in regard to other departments,
the customers, and the shareholders.
